I once ran a half marathon and all the fellas were unashamedly squeezing every last drop out against the trees by the start line - presumably after that you do sweat most of it out. We females were more modest and used the porta-loos provided at strategic points. Incidentally I did hear that in one marathon the half-way potrta-loos were transported to the finish to be used again once every one had passed the half-way stage - except for one poor chap who was still inside when the loos were loaded onto the lorry. Apparently the big dilemma was whether or not to give him his medal for being the first across the finishing line ...
