I was 'congratulating' him on his two word posting, not the earlier attempt at communication. True, he did use uppercase throughout "Asshole" but we can allow him that if we take it that he is using the convention of upper case for 'shouting'. As for what sort of Englishman am I? The tolerant type - I don't even object to being taken to task by my neighbours, whose own language has traditionally been either Gaelic or French. Naturally, should 'American' object to you using either I would join the fray on your behalf - the more diversity, the merrier. There are plenty of poor spellers and posters with a tenuous grasp of grammar - you might note that I never comment on their mistakes. 'American' is different - he's nasty.
