Guys shift around when desperate just like girls because when it comes down to it we all have the same musle down there that we are frantically trying to control. Squeezing and rubbing my dick helps a lot but can only be done in short bursts as the natural reaction makes you hard and if you carry on the end result will be quite messy!
As for signs of desperation - crossed legs is definitely one, dick squeezing or surrupticious rubbing of the crotch area another, and if totally desperate and on the brink of peeing the only thing that can delay it is frantic pacing up and down!
