Unfortunately, you're right on the money, Kalyn.
Years of mismanagement on our part have allowed a widespread gap in military capability, and it's been especially bad since after the Gulf War. It's as if everyone said "Okay, we beat Iraq, we don't need our military anymore."
In effect, we've unzipped our schlong and laid it on a railroad track, and somewhere in the distance I hear a horn...
