Wow, intersting subject to me, this one. You see, well, I had alittle different approach. I lurked and lurked and read everything around, the only woman I ever e-mailed was Patches, and that was pretty academic, you know, about videos and stuff, no sort of "hot" exchanges. I soul searched and decided I should make a contribution, especially after seeing what Aquavite was doing, with his posting of the "Suzi" pictures on newsgroups and some of his stories on Patches and other places. So starting at Monty's (pre-dates Alori's awhile) I began making up fantasy stories and posting them. hoping to give others a little pleasure and to encourage others to do the same. I joined in discussions on Monty's and later here and at Alori's. I became a somewhat known fixture, generated myself a net personna quite similar to my actual personality, jsut through words.
I did all this for about two years, happy to enjoy my fetish this way.
Then I got my rocketmail and began putting up my rocketmail address with my tales. And occasionally getting into e-mail discussions witha few others, mostly guys making no bones about being guys, about various topics but usually off the wetting subject.
Then a girl e-mailed me, just talking about some of my stories, expressing her appreciation for them. I e-mailed back, we began e-mailing regularly, and pretty soon we were not discussing ws thigns anymore, but ourselves and our lives.
Naturally, phone calls followed, and a real life meeting followed that.
That went well. Very well, with absolutely no ws content to it (but some very fine non-ws intimacy).
Basically, we fell in love, and this sort of thign is a very small component in a very happy,, loving real life relationship that was spawned on the net. My girlfriend/someday wife is everything I or anyone else could hope for; intelligent, kind, witty, complex, confident, sexy, quite lovely, you name it, she has those qualities (and she also is a well known presence here on these message boards using her own "personality" name). We are very happy together and I guess it could be what you call your basic dream come true.
For my part I am somewhat intelligent and I express myself decently well in writing, but other than that I am unremarkable in terms of looks, finances, etc, so don't be thinking "Hell, Tom Cruise can get any woman he wants," cause I am about as far from Robert Redford as a guy can get!
Anyhow, it not only CAN happen, it HAS happenned.
Also, for a while I remained pretty active and vocal in the "community." Chat rooms, message boards, pretty much maintained the same presence as before. Over the course of the next year I established contact with two other women, either of which I am sure I could have pursued with a good chance at similar results until I realized how fucking STUPID it would be to even risk screwing things up with the lady I loved for a little sexual gratification via the net.
