but from the carious replays I've seen of the infamous bat toss, it appeared that (a) Clemens didn't see that Pizza was coming down the line, and (b) the bat wasn't thrown in a manner that suggested he was tring to hurt anybody. If he wanted it to do some damage he would have thrown it overhand, he just kinda flung it.
I hate Roger Clemens as much as the next guy. In fact I call him, EVIL INCARNATE!, but this time it was just an accident. Now when he hit Piazza in the head...THAT should have gotten him a three-year suspension...THAT was him trying to kill somebody. Y'Know the only death directly related toplaying baseball was caused by a pitcher trying to hit a batter in the head. Unfortunately, it got him in the temple, and killed him instantly.
