Perhaps you don't have your browser settings to check the updates to sites frequently enough. I use IE5.5 bundled with W2000Professional, and have it set to "Automatic" which is, I believe the default. Every browser has its own settings for this. Just hunt around for it, then change it to "once a day" or "automatic" or whatever. That should do the trick.
