I've been using cloth diapers for about 40 years now. I prefer birdseye diapers with several thicknesses of terry in the middle between two layers of birdseye fabric. They are not quite as soft as flannel, but nothing says "Diaper" to me more than that birdseye pattern. It's what I wore as a baby, and it was what the first diapers wore as a teen were.
