thank you all for responding to my question
back when I was a kid after haveing more wet mornings than dry my mom had me sleep right on top of the rubber sheet and a few times the only sheet on the bed was plastic .
I now keep my mattress covered with a plastic sheet and use a rubber draw sheet over the center
of the top sheet with a mattress pad so when I do have a wetting accident the only things that get wet are me and the pad.
