I'd express great mock concern, with many tsk-tsks and clucks, all with much ill-concealed pleasure. "I know it's hard to hold it back, honey, but Daddy knows you tried, and it's OK . Here, honey, come and Daddy will clean you up and put a snuggly diaper on you, just in case, and then you can relax and not worry, OK Honey?" The cleaning-up might be lengthy. While you are in the diaper, Daddy would make frequent pats, checks and explorations, just to make sure you are doing OK. "I know it can be scary to have an accident, Honey, so if you like you can come to Daddy when you feel an accident coming, and he will put his arms around you and hold you until the accident is over, OK Honey?"
