Yeah, I think there are plenty of people who know what you're talking about. I have about the same perspective as pp, but still mixed with enough anxiety to fret about it. Thing I've noticed, though, is that I can only smell it if my hand is like right up against my nose. Even a few inches away and I just smell the soap I used. Think about when you smell it and if, like me, its only when your nose is right on top of what got dirty. Do you expect to be waving your fingers into someone's nose? Then you've probably got nothing to worry about. Only other thing I'd suggest is washing with multiple soaps to try to overwhelm it with different scents. I've not had as good luck for antibacterial soap as I wanted, but it does tend to have the best result solo.
Isn't there a trick with using a silver spoon to get garlic scent off one's hand? I wonder if the same principals apply to our particular issue. Obviously would do this after cleaning first AND would run the spoon in the dishwasher after.
