Congratulations! You had the courage to try it, and were rewarded by the experience. I also want to complement you on your writing ability and style - a well written description that's very readable, honest and straight-forward.
In regard to the approach you use with your husband; perhaps you might consider creating an"accident" scenario which I believe will really turn him on while not initially "committing" yourself.
