@Pantybump: I'm very aware of that, which is actually part of the appeal of this board. But it's also a double-edged sword because sometimes you actually _do_ want identities so as to prevent impersonation, name clashes, abuse, etc. I've been thinking about how to protect identities, and my thoughts are as follows:
You create a main account and a profile. But you can join groups and post in forums using a special alias that can't be tracked back to your main profile/account. Age and e-mail addresses are, however, required. The former for age verification so as to comply with local and/or federal laws; the latter for account verification. No e-mail addresses will EVER be shared with others (unless you explicitly choose to share). How open or closed your account profile is is up to you, and you can tweak it in your account privacy settings.
