When I was in Navy (US) boot camp we had an unusual and funny wetting incident. A guy who was just about the most "squared away" and popular sailor in our company wet his bed - and I mean he really saturated it - the night before we had a big inspection. This was a week before graduation. We were issued only one sheet and one wool blanket. For inspection the blanket had to be folded properly at the foot of the bed. So there was no hiding his accident. The wetter tried to tell us that he spilled coffee on his bed which gave us all a good laugh. He was really embarrassed. But we were all concerned because if we got demerits on the inspection, especially this close to graduation, the whole company could get in trouble. When the inspection team arrived we were all lined up at the foot of our beds. The inspectors looked at his bed and decided everything was okay. It seem that while we had to make sure the sheet was tight and had hospital corners, and the blanket folded properly, it was not against any chicken-shit Navy rule to wet your bed. By the way, had the accident occured in the first couple of weeks of recruit training, the guy might have been in trouble. Chronic bedwetters were given medical discharges.
