This discussion is curious to me for a couple fo reasons.
1. From my point of view there are quite a few women posting here. The mix of sexes is one of the reasons I like it here. I suppose there are more men, but hardly to the point of leaving women unrepresented. There are lots of places far more male oriented.
2. I understand that lots of people don't like posting in an evironment where they may get attacked. (Men too.) Unfortunately that's a characteristic of newsgroups and bulletin boards in general. The ability to post anonymously from the safety of your home sometimes brings out the worst in people. However, speaking as someone who has been caught up in many newsgroup wars, this is a very mild community. Not especially aggressive. Another reason I like it.
