Karl Marx was an economist, he was never a communist. His communist mannefisto was meant as an economic system. Yes, communism has been attributed to him, but many of the ideals within it were not his. His was the view of an economist, give the money to the working poor, as they will spend it or put it into more productive means than those who were rich.
