Think about it: the sources say .05 to 2.5 or so percent of adults wet the bed. (Check the net for 'adult bedwetting'.) The hotels surely must be well aware of it. After all, mattresses are expensive. I'm surprised that most don't offer discretely a diaper by placing it in a drawer in the room. But like you, I asked once for a waterproof sheet, and the response was they did not have one. Lucky for them, I was diapered at bedtime.
