First I must mention this funny observation i have made, in the last 2 weeks my non AB/DL freind (whom is aware and accepting of me being ab/dl) has pointed out to me 2 new nappy adverts and it seems he has been paying more attention to nappy ads than i do!!! he first pointed out the huggies pull ups ad with joe "hellium" pasqualli doing the voice overs then last night a pampers ad came on and he said "this one they slag of Pampers" and they did, he does watch more tv than i do, so that explains how he knew about the ads before me, but i found it interesting that he actually watched the ad and listend to it!!! anyway my main reason for this topic is the actual fact that Huggies did slag of pampers in the new ad, "there 5 times more strechier than Pampers baby dry" is there claim, I am hoping someone here has some knowledge of advertising laws and will be able to tell me if i am wrong in assuming that it is illegal for one brand to directly mention another brand and to say ther product is better, Pampers as far as i can remember has never sunk to such low levels, even in there recent pampers active fit ad (which is also about how strechy the nappy is, what is it with strechy nappies!!!) but when they compare it to the other nappy they say next best nappy, or other leading brand which i think is what huggies should do, also i like that huggies have to resort to using gimics like celebrity voice overs (they use helium man before as well as chris evans, joe brand and i think another one? Pampers dont need to do this, the name Pampers sells for them! anyway hope someone can shed some light on this
