pantydump, I do not have an aversion to saving poop... I have experimented with that myself. But it sounds like you have a better way than I have had. You wrapped them in wet towels? Perhaps that would help prevent the crust.
Dont worry too much about the soft poop. I have changed a few things, so that when I change them back, I will return to constipation, or nearly so. Never fear.
