Good morning,
No, dry paper towels is best. The idea is to let the logs dry out and not smell at all. Then when I put them back in my panties I can squish them all together and they are back to normal because they are still normal inside. Just the outside is dry.
Maybe this is the banana idea. The banana is dry on the outside but squishy inside.
